Compassion is the first enlightened principle.  Think of compassion (think of all these enlightened principles) like a giant lake - it just sits there waiting for someone to activate it.  Your actions form a channel to manifest compassion.  Without action, compassion is just an idea.    

Your kindness and compassion not only heals others, it heals you.

We fall into the habit of placing a value on others based on how much we think they can help us, or based on their outer appearance.  How different would the world be if we stopped calculating a value to people and just appreciated them, felt compassion for them, tried to understand them, and tried to help them?

Tap into the power of compassion to change lives, and to change your own life.  Share this legacy of compassion with your children and grandchildren.

Compassion is transmitted through group values and societal norms.  If you are compassionate, others will find it easier to follow your example.  Until one day the whole world will practice compassion.

It is impossible to feel unhappy or upset when you realize that you already have so many blessings.  Gratitude is like a giant cloud that overwhelms negative emotions.

Gratitude is an inner attitude, a decision, an intentional shift in your perspective to recognize all the good in the world, the good people around you, the opportunities that exist for you, and the material things that keep you safe and comfortable. 

Gratitude changes the dimension of time.  Rather than thinking you will be happy after something happens, or if something happens – you can be happy right now when you recognize all the wonderful things you already have in life.

Let gratitude be your first thought in the morning and your last thought at night.

Serve others without any expectation or reward.  Let go of old perceptions of limitation and focus your Mind on serving others without any thought of return.

How can I show someone a kindness?  How can I lift up someone's life?  How can I help someone's career?  How can I make someone's life a little bit less of a struggle?

Serving others doesn’t make you poor – it makes you rich and fulfilled in every aspect of life.

Trust is our human to human connection.  It is the bond that holds us together.  Trust leads to good faith cooperation which keeps us working together on a higher goal.

Without trust, we are doomed to a world governed by sheer self-interest. 

Trust has been almost completely eroded in our society, even truth itself is being eroded.  We need to start bonding together again, and trust is the way forward. 

Reflect on how much of your life depends on trust, and isn't life easier when you really trust the people around you?

Trust is a shared bond - even if you do your part, there is no guarantee.  Trust requires both sides to keep their word.  If either side pulls away, the bond is broken and can never be built back the same.
